The Catholic Daughters of the Americas is one of the oldest and largest organizations of Catholic women in the Americas. They donate to charities, administer scholarship programs and strive “to be helping hands where there is pain, poverty, sorrow or sickness.” The CDA motto is “Unity and Charity
Our inspiration was Sondra Miller 1940-2015. Sondra was an active member of our parish for over 40 years. She was known as a kind, loving, generous woman who lived her life serving others. She worked as a special education teacher in Rock Valley for 26 years. Her generous nature touched countless lives, and she was happiest when she was helping others. This group was formed in her memory, through the generosity of her family.
This group will make & distribute prayer blankets to anyone who asks for prayers or who we hear are in need in prayers.
Blessing of the Blankets
Gracious, loving, and healing God, bless these blankets that they might be tangible evidence of the love and prayers of this parish. Bless those who will receive blankets. Give them comfort, peace, healing, and strength. Remind them that they are loved and never forgotten. We ask your blessing on all who are lonely, sick, and suffering. In the name of Jesus Christ, the gentle healer. Amen.
